If not, my current version of SnagIT has ways to easily batch convert SnagIT files into industry standard formats. I would love to return to SnagIT in the future if these issues are resolved as I have been using the software for years. I have returned to an earlier version of SnagIT for access to my legacy files, cancelled my maintenance, and switched to an alternative for my primary capture software. It took me a couple of years to trust SnagIT enough to save my files in their proprietary SnagIT format, and now I regret doing so with some of my heavily edited files saved in SnagIT format. Not upgrading obviously means support and compatibility will not be viable for the long term, so finding an alternative screen capture software becomes my best option. It seems the new features of 2022 are related to Cloud saves and the new file format to share with MAC, neither of which I find personally useful so using an older version of SnagIT is viable for me in the short term. I am also experiencing the issues Kevin Ross pointed out. But if it's something other than that, please open a support ticket or start a chat on the support site. So hopefully that will address any instability you're hitting. We have a fix for one ready to ship soon and the other we've got a good idea to fix. Is this mostly when capturing, editing, or browsing for you? The next maintenance release will attempt to identify the root cause of this so that we can address it more thoroughly later. This has to do with Windows indexing not keeping up or being turned off. The other issue that we're addressing is where the files all convert and move to the new Library folder but they aren't showing up in the Library view in Snagit (this is not common). The biggest issue we've heard so far is that people are concerned it's a one-time conversion and people won't be able to move back to 2021 if there are issues (your previous library will be left untouched). If there are any concerns you ran into during this process, that would be great to hear.
We're looking to make the conversion process less confusing. Use of new file type snagx - confusing, slow, etc. It's now the "official response" so it should be easier to see now.
